Updated: Jan 11, 2019

Cars procured and restored by Charles Bronson's team at Boulevard Motorcar Company have won 6 awards, including the coveted "Best of Show", at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance.

Long Time Coming

After first being shown by Charles Bronson at the 2012 Pebble Concours D'Elegance in the preservation class, Charles and his team knew they needed to find the right caretaker for their 1928 Mercedes Barker Tourer and return it to its original glory. Having one particular client in mind, as well as a world-class restorer on the project, it would be destined for greatness.

Going to Pebble

Bruce McCaw owns many of worlds great automobiles, but had never won the grand daddy of them all, Pebble, until now. Never one to overtly chase that distinction, his great cars nonetheless have always been at the forefront. This great Mercedes Barker Tourer could be the finest of them all.

The long restoration began with much research and discussion. All the details had to be accurate and authentic to the time. One of the main assets available to Bronson and the restoration team was the vast resources available at the Boulevard Motorcar Company library. This enabled them to ascertain and confirm various details about the Mercedes' original configuration. After years of research and much to everyone's surprise, the original configuration of the Mercedes included a very striking boat-tail rear end treatment. This discovery, along with various other details such as the polished aluminum bonnet and boot-lid, truly make this automobile one of the greatest Mercedes ever built.

Other Awards

This years Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance also saw many other distinctions bestowed upon Boulevard Motorcar Company cars; "Most Elegant Sports Car", "Gran Turismo Trophy", "Best in Class - Mercedes-Benz Prewar", "French Cup" and "Best in Class - Postwar Grand Touring".
